Giving one’s all for FSD

One event has the capability to have an impact that lasts for years. On April 7, Xavier High School will be hosting its annual Forever Saints Day fundraiser. The Xavier Foundation Office is in charge of planning and hosting the event. It is their fourth year of raising money through this event in the name of Catholic education. Xavier will host a live stream for the audience consisting of alumni, parents and other supporters wishing to help the school. This event started three years ago when the Xavier Foundation partnered with the Lasalle-Regis- Xavier Alumni, which officiallystarted the tradition of holding this annual event. Overtime, the event has raised almost $300,000 for the school. Mrs. Mary Harken, Xavier Foundation Advancement Director, commented on this event. “Funds raised will be directed towards the Xavier Impact Fund to help students and families with financial assistance, build teacher endowment, and advance faith and academic programs at Xavier High School,” Harken said. Xavier students also get the opportunity to participate in the planning process as interns for the Xavier Foundation Office. Senior Brady Horstmann is participating in planning for the fundraiser and speaks about the importance of the event to the school. “Forever Saints Day is really important because it brings together all of the Alumni of the various former high schools and Xavier for one special occasion. I am excited to help with the event this year. While this will be my first time as an intern helping with it, I have had the chance to sup- port it by volunteering in the past years. Most of the parts that I help with will be going on in the coming weeks with helping to set up for the event on April 7,” Horstmann said. Senior intern Maci Schimberg has also been working closely alongside the rest of the foundation to plan the day. “I love helping with Forever Saints Day because I love the ladies in the foundation and I know how hard they work. I really try to make them proud and it is always a blast. I love meeting new people through this event,” Schimberg said. Schimberg also shares that she helps out with the event by getting all the activities in order and put together. She says it is important that the guests are happy and that things stay on track. Last year’s Forever Saints Day ‘doubled the impact’ and raised $85,415 for Catholic education.
