Hogwarts’ favorite wizards are making a magical comeback 20 years after their debut. The cast of Harry Potter has not been together since the premiere of the eighth film in July, 2011 but will be reuniting for a TV special, “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.” The special is going to contain details about the film, including what it was like behind the scenes and the impact the films have made on the world. It will include a conversation with the cast and crew, thorough interviews with the cast, the directors from the first and second films, Chris Columbus, who produced the first three movies, a pre-recorded video of JK Rowling verbalizing the series and other special guests. The reunion will also be running on TBS and Cartoon Network in the spring for viewers who are not HBO MAX users. The release date is still yet to be determined for international audiences. The special is produced by Casey Patterson from Casey Patterson Entertainment and Pulse Films. When asked to comment on the series, Patterson had positive things to say. “There’s magic in the air here with this incredible cast, as they all return home to the original sets of Hogwarts, where they began 20 years ago. The excitement is palpable as they prepare to take their fans on a very special and personal journey, through the making of these incredible films” Patterson said. Harry Potter fans, also known as Potterheads, are pumped to see the cast in the on screen special, including certain Xavier students. “I am pretty excited for the reunion. I hope to enjoy all the content released in it and the reunions of the cast members,” Paul Huiskamp, a Xavier junior, said. “I am especially looking forward to the reunion betweenDaniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint. I can’t wait for all the trouble that will find them if they all get the chance to share the screen together again.” The streaming service HBO MAX will be showing the series on New Years in additon to the whole series being available for streaming on the service. To add onto the excitement the game show “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses” will also be available on HBO MAX on January 1. This will start releasing weekly starting on November 28 on TBS and Cartoon Network. The show is a four part special about fans being placed in their corresponding Hogwarts House and competing against each other. From the reunion special to the new game show, Harry Potter fans have much to look forward to in the upcoming months.
