The wait is finally over. On September 28, Lil Wayne finally dropped his highly anticipated album Tha Carter V. People have been waiting for another installment of Tha Carter since 2011, after the fan favorite Tha Carter IV was released.

This album has 23 songs, none of which were singles. Lil Wayne features many great artists on this project which includes XXXTENTACION, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Sosamann, Reginae Carter, Snoop Dogg, Ashanti, Mack Maine and Nivea. These features offer a great mix of old school and new school rap with older rappers like Snoop Dogg and newer artists such as Travis Scott. The best songs on the album include “Don’t Cry,” “Uproar,” “Let it Fly” and “Mona Lisa.”

Before the album released, many people claimed the album would not live up to the hype or would not be as good as Tha Carter IV. These people could not have been further from the truth. After a little over a week of being out, this project is already certified gold, has four songs in the top 10 on the Billboard charts and is the number one album on the Billboard 200. The album truly lived up to the hype and further proved the fact Wayne is one of the greatest rappers of all time. 10/10.
