Millions of people all over the world have been affected greatly by musicians’ deaths in the past year: Mac Miller, XXXTentacion, Aretha Franklin, and many more are a few we have lost in the past year.  On June 18, 2018 Jahseh Onfroy, otherwise known as XXXTentacion, was shot and killed while he was in his car.  This event sparked major controversy due to the abruptness of the murder.  To this day, investigators are still trying to find out exactly what happened on that fateful day.

Many celebrities chimed in over the death, including Kanye West, who took to Twitter to share his condolences, “Rest in peace.  I never told you how much you inspired me when you were here, thank you for existing.”

Aretha Franklin, the queen of soul died on August 18, 2018, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.  After Franklin’s tragic death, a touching tribute concert was held in her honor on August 30, 2018 in Detroit celebrating her life and success.

Most recently, Mac Miller, who was only 26, died due to an alleged drug overdose on September 7, 2018.  Ariana Grande, who was Mac Miller’s significant other for roughly two years, posted a picture declaring her love and sadness she had for the young musician’s death.

“The kindest, sweetest soul with demons he never deserved.  I hope you are okay now,” Ariana Grande said recently on her Instagram.

Whether it be a personal connection, or a die hard fan of an artist, the death of musicians could greatly affect fans.  These music artists are gone, but their music will play on.
