Artist of the Issue: Charlie Esker

Elizabeth Janey, A&E Writer

This issue’s Artist of the Issue is senior Charlie Esker. Esker has been practicing the arts since childhood, and has always had an affinity toward it.

“I’ve always loved art,” Esker said. “My favorite medium is digital art, and I try to practice during my free time.”

Esker is currently undecided about what college he will attend, but plans to major in animation and minor in sequentials, graphic art. He practices his digital art skills by using various apps on his iPad.

“I plan to be an animator,” Esker said. “I hope to work on movies and possibly write my own comic.”

Esker will be working on a mural of the Virgin Mary, which will be hung on one of the walls of Xavier High School. His advice to anyone who wants to be involved in art is to take advantage of their creativity and explore different mediums.
