To string or not to string

String cheese is not called cheese, it is called string cheese. There is a reason for this. If the makers of string cheese wanted you to take a bite out of it like a beef stick, STRING cheese wouldn’t exist. It is called string cheese because you are supposed to string it. You cannot just take a bite out of it. Do you pick up a clementine and bite it like an apple? No, you don’t. It’s just not natural. If you bite string cheese, you look like a barbarian and this definitely is not the fourth century, people.

If  you think it is  more  convenient, then why are you wasting money on string cheese? Instead, if you feel the need to bite cheese instead of peel it, buy a cheese block and gnaw on that for goodness sake. That way you get more for your money and you can get as much cheese as you please.

Biting string cheese may be “quicker”, but from personal experience, I can say it truly isn’t as tasteful. String cheese is made differently so that it is more stringy than most cheese. When you bite it, you ruin the enjoyment it brings.

String cheese is made to be strung, shredded cheese is called shredded cheese because, well, it is shredded, and sliced cheese is called sliced cheese because it is sliced. People gave these different forms of cheese different names for a reason. You would not put shredded cheese on a burger and sliced cheese in a taco. The outcome of the products would taste different and have an odd texture. The same thing goes for string cheese.

Biting string cheese results in an unsatisfying texture in your mouth and it has a faint, awkward taste. That is why you string it. It lasts longer and it is convenient, because that is the point of string cheese. Like I said before, and I will say again, if you truly feel the need to bite cheese instead of peel it, buy a block of cheese and gnaw on that.
