Playlist of my life

Arwen Gilbert

As I sit here, listening to my “senior year :’)” Spotify playlist, trying to sum up my time at Xavier, all the memories made and the lessons learned, two words come to mind: Goodbyes suck.

It’s definitely not gonna be hard to let go of my polo and khakis or sitting in a classroom for six hours a day, but I can hardly wrap my head around the fact that in less than three months, I won’t be around my best friends every day.

I have been blessed with the best of friends. From show choir to football games to Parlor City ice cream runs to blasting music in the car to drinking Bangs energy drinks at 9 p.m. to mini golf to movie nights to the musical to sitting in HyVee almost every Thursday night, I have made so many memories. My head is so ready to move away and to let go of high school, but my heart wants nothing more than for it all to stay the same and to come back to Xavier in the fall because of the amazing people that have blessed my life.

To my best friends, in the words of my “senior year :’)” playlist, “My Wish” is that you all continue to follow your dreams and passions, and you know that I am so proud of you. I can’t wait to look back at the “Good Old Days” and smile because of all the memories we have made together. “There’s a Last Time For Everything,” so soak in the last 10 days before “Graduation.” Even though we have to say “Goodbye,” “Don’t You (Forget About Me).” It’s an understatement to say you guys have become my “Home.” “Here’s to the Good Times” my friends, “I’ll Always Remember You.”
