Dear world

Summer Howard, Media Editor

From going into Xavier as a freshman and having no clue what was coming, to not having a senior prom and a virtual graduation, I have learned a lot.

Going into freshman year from eighth grade, I had this big image in my head of what I wanted high school to be like. I thought it was going to be like the movies. Boy, was I wrong. But that was not a bad thing. Freshman year was a little difficult for me. I was diagnosed with depression and was not very confident in myself. I did not really fit in well with anyone and did not like the activities I was in.

Well did things change sophomore year. I met many new amazing friends and started to be more confident in myself. I did lose a few friends after sophomore year but it was what had made me stronger. My high school experience started to become what I wanted it to be. Junior year and senior year ended up being the best years. I got closer to more people and experienced new places like France.

I am forever grateful for my experience at Xavier High School. It might have not started out the best, but it ended in a crazy memorable way. So I would like to say a few thank you’s.

Thank you mom and dad for helping me out and being there for me the past four years. I do not know where I would be without your help. Thank you for letting me experience the opportunities that I was able to experience through school. I will be forever grateful for them. I can not thank you enough.

To all my friends who have stuck with me, thank you. Thank you for bringing the best out of me and staying with me even though I can be hard to deal with.  Thank you for the special memories we have created that I will never forget. Thanks for the endless laughter and adventures. I do not know what I would have done without you all!

I am so thankful for everything I experienced at Xavier. I will never forget what I have learned and will apply all these life lessons in the future.
