Streaming changes

Every month brings new changes to Netflix and Hulu. In March, there is only one well-known show leaving the Netflix library, and no movies. There are twelve lesser-known shows leaving, which all have only one season. This may be a sign of the shows not garnering the ratings and views Netflix wants. The one well-known show leaving Netflix is Disney’s Lab Rats. The show has four seasons and has generally been well-received by critics.

There will be quite a few new additions to Netflix in March. A Series of Unfortunate Events, one of Netflix’s original series, will be airing its second season on March 30. The show is based off of the popular children’s book series by Lemony Snicket. The creators of the popular Netflix series Workaholics are releasing a new action and comedy titled, Game Over, Man! It tells the story of three friends about to recieve funding to create their video game company, when one of the benefactors is taken hostage. A new Netflix documentary is releasing in March titled Ladies First, which delves into the inspirational story of Deepkita Kumari, a woman who rose from intense poverty to become the fifth-ranked women’s archer in the world. Three new Netflix original animes are also set to release in March.

Hulu has not released their March changes, but February was very eventful for the streaming service. They added plenty of new movies and shows for their subscribers to enjoy. Two very popular comedies were added to Hulu in February: Blazing Saddles and Benchwarmers. The completed series of Cougar Town and One Tree Hill were added to Hulu, which have had very successful runs. One Tree Hill was taken off Netflix recently, which may draw some Netflix users to Hulu. Early 2000s classics Akeelah and the Bee and both of the Agent Cody Banks movies have been added for teenage subscribers to revisit their childhood. Three very well received action movies were added to the Hulu library: Sin City, The Hurt Locker, and the classic western The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Those are only a few of Hulu’s additions in February.

These next few months should be enjoyable for Netflix ($7.99+/Month) and Hulu ($7.99/Month) subscribers alike.
