Murder, mystery, and romance: The CW network’s hit teen drama, Riverdale, has it all. The show recently returned to the screens of viewers all over the country, drawing in 2.3 million viewers for the season two premiere. Season one set the show up for massive success as one of the most talked about shows of 2017. It brought in incredibly high ratings week after week.

Riverdale is a darker spinoff of the Archie Comics series and focuses on main characters Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Jughead Jones, and Veronica Lodge. The show is set in a small town with many complex secrets, and the so called “core four” often find themselves wrapped up in the town’s drama and even some police investigations. The friends’ main goal is to uncover the dark secrets their town and the people in it are hiding. Season one investigates the murder of their classmate, Jason Blossom, and the suspicious evidence surrounding his death. Season two will be investigating a masked man who shot Archie’s father and is now on a killing spree. Each of the main characters’ families have their own twisted stories to tell and those are revealed throughout the episodes. Along the way, we are introduced to new characters and subplots to throw a wrench in things.

Riverdale is a gem of a show, spanning multiple genres and intriguing people of all interests. Riverdale is very well done, with strong acting and intriguing plots that will keep any viewer drawn in. The characters all have many sides and often have hidden motives that can cause quite a stir in their small town.

All in all, everyone should give Riverdale a try because it caters to many audiences and keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. Season one of Riverdale is available for streaming on Netflix, and season two is currently running on The CW app and The CW channel on Wednesdays at 7p.m.
