Xavier High School’s choir groups will wrap up the 2016-2017 school year with the Spring Vocal Concert. The choir groups will perform their last concert at Xavier on May 8 at 7 p.m.

“My favorite part of the Spring Vocal Concert is being able to cherish singing together one last time,” senior Hannah Zwanziger said.

Zwanziger has been in choir all four years at Xavier. Her senior year, she was involved in the choir groups Voce and Xavier Chorale. Zwanziger will be attending the University of Northern Iowa and plans to participate in their choir.

Senior Luke Lesnik is also part of Voce and Xavier Chorale, and has participated in choir all four years of high school. After high school, Lesnik plans to get involved in the choir at the University of Iowa.

“I will miss the people at Xavier the most,” Lesnik said. “I have made many of my closest friends through choir and show choir. I feel like I’m where I belong when I sing with this choir. This is really cliché, but they are like a second family to me, and they have made a positive impact on my life.”

As a traditional farewell to the seniors, the song “The Road Home,” by Stephen Paulus, will be sung at the concert.

Xavier Chorale will sing at the graduation ceremony for their final performance of the year.
