Artist of the Issue: Jenna Ampulski

Keaton Maier, A&E Writer

Enkindled in senior Jenna Ampulski is a deep passion for photography. Ampulski is quite new to photography, having only begun her junior year, but she has still managed to mature from a hobbyist photographer to a dedicated artist.

“I kept with it because it became sort of therapeutic to me,” Ampulski said. “It gives me an outlet to express myself in a way that is true to me.”

Few of Ampulski’s photos are realistic, but rather surreal images that resemble dreams. Ampulski draws much of her inspiration from artists involved in the Surrealism Movement, such as Salvador Dali and Frida Kahlo.

“When people see my pictures, I want them to see that every single one has its  own  story to tell,” Ampulski said. “Some are happy; some are sad. Each picture is essentially a piece of me.”
